COMMUNITY COLLEGES IN CALIFORNIA

There are 116 community colleges in California offering programs from certificate programs to transfer to a four year college or university. The admissions requirement is for a student to have a high school diploma or be 18 years old.

Explore this website to find any community college in California and what programs they offer:

https://www.cccco.edu/

Application: https://www.cccapply.org/en/apply

You will need letter of recommendation for the following:

  • Scholarships

  • From Counselor/school official

  • Teachers

  • Community member ( preferably someone you completed community service with)

  •  Private Universities (QuestBridge, Common app)

  • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

Request letter of recommendation minimum of a month prior to your application due date, but the earlier you ask, the better.

Remember that teachers who teach seniors and counselors  get a lot of requests for letters of recommendation. Not to mention, a really good, thorough letter of recommendation for college is time consuming to write. Give them a fair heads up.
