LSS Educational Talent Search

Talent Search is college prep program federally funded through the U.S. Department of Education TRIO Programs designed to provide outreach services to students in the San Diego Area. The program encourages students to not only complete high school but to also enroll in a post-secondary educational institution.

Upward Bound

LSS Upward Bound

Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a Bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.


Upward Bound offers the following services for FREE!

Academic advising

Academic Tutoring

Campus visitations

Six-week non-residential academic summer program.

Career assessments, planning, and exploration.

AP, ACT, and SAT Prep

Assistance with college, scholarships, and financial aid applications.
